L'Orangerie

A characterful 19th-century gîte with a heated salt-water pool and a park of century-old trees — on the edge of Moncoutant, Deux-Sèvres, 35 minutes from Puy du Fou.

Our story

A family property since 1860

Nestled in the very heart of the bocage, in the Deux-Sèvres, l'Orangerie opens the doors of a characterful property dating from 1860, still in the same family since it was built — over 150 years. It stands in the grounds of the Château Saint-Claude, surrounded by centuries-old trees: a true haven of peace, perfect for unplugging.

Fully renovated in 2007, then again in 2019 — with recent heating and thermal/acoustic insulation — the house elegantly blends old-world charm — exposed stone, beams, an open fireplace — with modern comfort, for a stay that's both authentic and comfortable. Wifi is available throughout the house. Approved by Gîtes de France, it holds the three-épis rating and the "Gîte de charme" label since 2011.

Nathalie and Stanislas welcome you warmly and love sharing their favourite local addresses.
